Captured from the running product. storagebacktest.terranexamaps.com

Every candidate settlement point is backtested on its own five-minute real-time price series, with congestion and renewable basis included rather than a hub average. Net revenue is what is reported, not gross: standby and ancillary obligations, capacity and transmission charges, market fees, charging energy and battery degradation are all deducted.

The ranking is the product. It answers where to build with a defensible number instead of a judgement call, and the model independently rediscovers the real-world answer — ERCOT West and the Panhandle win, because congestion volatility there pays a battery to charge at midday.

What is actually running

  • Each of 171 candidate settlement points backtested on its own 5-minute real-time price series.
  • Net revenue reported, not gross — standby, capacity and transmission charges, market fees, charging energy and degradation are all deducted.
  • The node ranking is the deliverable: it answers where to build with a number rather than an opinion.
  • The model independently rediscovers the real-world result, which is the strongest evidence the co-optimisation is wired up correctly.
